Frog Island Performances

Saturday, June 24th, at the Frog Island Music Festival is devoted to several top-notch jazz acts. Things kick off with vocalist Sheila Landis and her Brazilian Fantasy at noon, followed by saxophonist Wendel Harrison and his quartet at 1:15. At 2:15 another local saxophone great, Larry Nozero joins forces with organist Lyman Woodard. At 4:15 Lyman Woodard Organization alumna violinist Regina Carter returns to this area from New York with her quintet. Carter continues to draw raves in the national jazz press and is generally considered the brightest star on the jazz fiddle horizon. 

The 19th annual Frog Island Festival takes place in Ypsilanti's Depot Town and it is an ideal location for a picnic. It is a good idea to bring a blanket or whatever you want to sit on.  Please call 734-761-1451 for more information.
