Saxophonist James Moody at the Dirty Dog
Bebop veteran James Moody (left) opened up a four-day gig at the Dirty Dog Jazz Café on Wednesday, January 13. He was ably backed by pianist Tad Weed, bassist Kurt Krahnke, and drummer Sean Dobbins. Moody's tenor sound was vigorous and his singing on the classic "Moody's Mood For Love" drew cheers and shouts of joy from the full house.
It was hard to tell that he would turn 85 in March of this year. Bebop lives!
