Edged In Brass
Edged In Brass is the theme of this year's Edgefest at Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor. The four day festival will feature the best in avant garde jazz from New York and elsewhere.
Notable performers are saxophonist Ned Rothenberg on September 29, trumpeters Taylor Ho Bynum and Amir ElSaffir (with altoist Rudresh Mahanthappa) on September 30, Trio X (with saxophonist Joe McPhee and the phenomenal bassist Dominic Duval), tubaist Joe Daley, and violinist Jason Hwang on October 1, and John Hollenbeck's Claudia Quartet (with tenorist Chris Speed, bassist Drew Gress, accordionist Ted Reichman, vibist Matt Moran) and trombonist Curt Hasselbring on October 2. The finale on Saturday is a Brass Blowout by eight brass players and two percussionists.
Please call the Concert House at 734-769-2999 or go to their website for more information. You can buy tickets for individual performances or buy an Edgepass for the whole festival.
