Detroit’s Carr Center has been in a holding pattern since leaving its Harmonie Park headquarters over a year ago. There is now light at the end of the tunnel: a new space in the Park Shelton apartment building (15 East Kirby) just north of the DIA.
The Carr Center Contemporary has an art show through January 5, and Carr President Oliver Ragsdale hopes to be open for musical performances by the end of February — according to an article in the Detroit News. The Carr’s artistic directors are vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington.
