Cakewalkin' in Toledo
We
have another update on the changing Toledo jazz scene, thanks
to the assistance of Tom Schoen and Toledo Blade's David Yonke.
The Cakewalkin' Jass Band has found a new home
at Murphy's Place. We reported a few issues ago that they lost a regular
gig when Ragtime Rick's closed in November. Now they play Murphy's
from 7 to 12 p.m. on Fridays.
The band's leader is clarinetist Ray Heitger and
the others are Frank Ward on cornet, Russ Damschroeder on trombone,
Betsy Grafing on banjo, Rick Grafing on piano, Jim Fagnano on drums,
Bob Miller on bass, and Nicole Heitger on vocals.
