The free Michigan Jazz Festival will be held on Sunday, July 15, at Schoolcraft College from noon until 9:00 p.m. There will be music on six stages inside buildings or under tents, performed by 25 combos and five big bands, for a total of almost 150 musicians. This year’s festival is dedicated to Eileen Standley, a life-long advocate of jazz and a champion of the Festival.The Michigan Jazz Festival is held at the modern and comfortable environs of Schoolcraft College, which features high quality food services and plenty of opportunities for socializing. SEMJA will have a table there as usual, so please drop by and say hello.
