Linda Yohn Recipient of 2017 SEMJA Award

Local radio voice Linda Yohn has been chosen to receive the 2017 Ron Brooks Award from SEMJA for her indefatigable work in support of the jazz community. On Monday, October 30, she will receive her SEMJA Award at the Zal Gaz Grotto Club in Ann Arbor during the performance of Paul Klinger’s Orchestra.

Yohn has worked as Program Director for WEMU for twenty years. She got her start in radio in Columbus and Kent Ohio and worked briefly as music publicist in New York City. Linda has developed a national profile among jazz journalists and has been a pioneer for women in jazz radio. We will have a complete profile of Linda Yohn in our October issue of this newsletter.
