SEMJA members are united in their love
for jazz and believe that belonging to
SEMJA promotes understanding and
appreciation of jazz as an art form.
We are jazz listeners, performers or
educators. Organized in 1987, SEMJA is
a completely
volunteer organization.
We provide
jazz education
to students at
all levels through special programs in
schools and in the community. We support
live performance of jazz in Southeastern
Michigan. We provide information about
jazz through publication of our monthly
UPDATE. Through our
newsletter and
volunteer activity we promote commu-
nity among jazz lovers in the area.
